How Insightuk are protecting its customers and staff from COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
With all the panic surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), it’s important to remember to have clarity on what to do whilst this pandemic sweeps across the globe.
In recent light of the Coronavirus cases in the UK, Insightuk have done a lot of research into COVID-19 and how to best protect our staff and the customers that we care about. All staff have been handed a memo on protocols and procedures to limit infection rates amongst our staff and customers.
Whilst we won’t pretend to know ALL the facts about this pandemic, what we have done is used the research we have gathered to put into place some procedures for our staff and we would like to pass this advice onto customers to reassure we are doing everything we possibly can to limit the infection rates.
What is a coronavirus?
Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses which may cause illness in animals or humans. In humans, several coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). The most recently discovered coronavirus causes coronavirus disease COVID-19.
What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are as follows:
The MAJORITY of patients with the Coronavirus experience these symptoms:
SOME patients with the Coronavirus experience these symptoms:
Aches & Pains
These symptoms are usually mild and begin to develop gradually. Some people become infected but don’t develop any symptoms and don't feel unwell. Most people (about 80%) recover from the disease without needing special treatment. Around 1 out of every 6 people who gets COVID-19 becomes seriously ill and develops difficulty breathing. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like high blood pressure, heart problems or diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness. People with fever, cough and difficulty breathing should seek medical attention.
Keeping our Staff Informed
Every staff member is to be given easy access to the correct information regarding the virus, the symptoms etc.
Notices and information boards are secured around the Insightuk buildings, offices and workshops.
Full details of how each person is to protect themselves are to be issued to every member of staff.
We’re Monitoring our Office Staff and Visitors

We’re Monitoring our Remote Workers – Engineers
Each engineer and remote worker is to be given a medical grade forehead thermometer, this is for their personal use and must not be shared. They are to record their temperature and give details of their physical condition (to include but not limited to: Coughs, Shortness of breath, etc…) each morning and each evening, temperature readings are to be taken when in a stable temperature condition, for example after 30 minutes of moving from one temperature location to another (from outside to inside).
Each engineer and remote worker is to be given hand washing and drying products to ensure that they can wash their hands appropriately when required.
Each engineer and remote worker is to be given ample hand sanitisers to ensure that they sanitise their hands appropriately when required.
Each engineer and remote worker is to be given ample surgical gloves to be used per site visit and when necessary when required, to limit the need for human contact.
If physical symptoms are identified and/or the results of the temperature test show feverish temperatures above 100.4 F / 38 C, advice will be sought from the national 111 Corona Virus help line service as to recommended courses of action.
Insightuk has adopted a “No Touch” policy to remove the unnecessary hand shaking and general touching throughout the workforce.
Insightuk has adopted an open feedback strategy in regards to ensure that the company has a clear vision of all health and virus matters.
Summary of steps taken by Insightuk to limit infection rates:
Installed alcohol-based hand sanitisers outside each office.
